①その場で決めたことに対して使うと不自然な表現になる。
Using it for decisions made on the spot makes the expression sound unnatural.

B：はい！行くつもりです。
上の例文の場合は「行きます」や「行こうと思います」を使う。
②目上の人に尋ねる時に「〜つもりですか」と聞くと失礼になる。
It would be considered rude to ask a superior, ‘〜つもりですか’
A：部長は夏休みどこへいらっしゃるつもりですか。
上の例文の場合「いらしゃいますか」や「いらっしゃるご予定ですか」を使う。
③第三者の意志や計画がはっきりとわからない場合は使えない。
It cannot be used when it is unclear about a third party’s intentions or plans.
A：田中さんは今晩、飲み会に参加しないつもりです。
上の文でAさんが田中さんの意志がわかる場合は使えるが、わからない場合は「〜つもりのようです」や「〜つもりらしい」といった表現を使う。
